The CDF, a « Fairground » Troup
The CDF is a not-for-profit association, whose legal structure follows British Friendly Societies' and is registered to the French Consulate in London. The association is linked to the SNPF (the National Society of French Teachers in Great Britain). It is also a FAFGB's member (the Federation of French Associations in Great Britain).

New members come from Greater London's French-speaking communities and are integrated after interviews and auditions. All members are amateurs, volunteers and are brought together within the CDF by their passion for theatrical arts and crafts. There is no discrimination nor limits on a candidate's age or previous experience.

The association usually includes between 20 and 25 active members and is managed by a committee (which is in charge of its administration and artistic direction) and . It also welcomes affiliated members (who are allowed from time to time to give a hand or offer financial or practical help) as well as benefactor members.

Every CDF's activities and productions (administration, logistics, stage management, advertising, comedy...) are entirely managed and handled by its voluntary members, depending on their interests, skills and availabilities.

The CDF does not have its own venue or premises. It relies on the goodwill and help of organisations for the loan of rooms to meet and rehearse.

The association's financial resources are mainly coming from benefits made during past productions. The resulting total amount is always reinvested in CDF's forthcoming productions and activities.

To this date, the CDF does not receive private financial helps or government grants.
